Suryodaya Municipality has pledged to offer a law-stipulated value for inexperienced tea leaves whereas responding to the demand of distraught tea farmers for a similar.
The industrialists haven’t paid the value of tea leaves to farmers in accordance with the requirements set by the municipality.
In line with the municipality-enforced ‘High quality tea manufacturing requirements work process’, the industrialists are obliged to offer a minimal value of Rs 40 per kg to farmers.
Nevertheless, many of the tea industrialists have declined to pay the stipulated value on the pretext of coronavirus impacts.
Municipality Mayor Rana Bahadur Rai has pledged that the municipality will present the acknowledged value of tea leaves to the farmers by establishing coordination with tea industries.
