NEA to import 250 MW of electrical energy from India for winter

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electrical energy Authority (NEA) is all set to import as much as 250 megawatt of electrical energy from India to make sure clean provide of electrical energy throughout the winter.

The NEA had positioned a request with the Authorities of India to obtain electrical energy from December 1, 2020 to June subsequent 12 months.

In line with the NEA’s Government Director Hitendra Dev Shakya, Indian facet had accepted the request on Saturday.

Out of 250 MW electrical energy, 80 to 150 MW is required for consumption for 24 hours whereas relaxation different for use when wanted.

Minister for Vitality, Water Sources and Irrigation Barshaman Pun, who additionally chairs NEA’s Board of Administrators, had directed the NEA to make sure high quality and clean provide of electrical energy to its customers.
